Jules Motschall writes cozy mysteries filled with charm, heart, romance, small-town secrets, and just the right amount of intrigue. An avid reader and lifelong book lover, Jules can rarely resist a bookstore or library and firmly believes most problems are improved by a good book, a strong cup of coffee or tea, and a candle that smells like October.

She has been writing stories for as long as she can remember—scribbling ideas on the backs of napkins, filling notebooks, and dreaming of becoming a published author from the time she was seven years old. Now, she gets to live that dream.

Her debut novel, Autumn & Alibis, introduced readers to the perpetually autumnal town of Fall, Michigan, and launched the Hearth & Quill Mystery series. The story continues in Bonfire & Betrayal, with more buried secrets, small-town drama, slow-burn romance, and, naturally, another mystery for Harper Whitmore to unravel.

When Jules isn’t plotting fictional crimes in Fall, she’s probably reading, buying more books than she needs, or convincing herself she absolutely has room for one more candle. 

Jules lives in the Chicago area with her husband, children, chickens, two cats, and a mini Goldendoodle.
